PASSAGE

“Passage” incense has a warm, balsamic, bitter-sweet aroma with nuances of spices and sandalwood.  “Passage” is created around Kua Myrrh (Commiphora kua), which is a rare, highly aromatic, species of Myrrh tree growing on the mystical island of Socotra, that is located in the Arabian Sea.  Kua Myrrh was the favorite of ancient Egyptian royalty and “Passage” is made in the ancient Egyptian, Kyphi-method of incense.  In the temples, courtyards and bedrooms of the Egyptians, Myrrh was used as physical and spiritual medicine during transitional phases of life, facilitating both death and rebirth.   The original of the word Myrrh comes from the taste and smell of sea salt.  The ocean is a place of transformation and transition, both in the sense of the great seas of the planet, and the smaller sea, that every pregnant woman carries withing her.  “Passage” helps to clear blockages and ease changes in life.  Each pellet is dusted with Red, Dragon’s Blood resin, also from the Island of Socotra, to add a layer of protection during the vulnerable time of transitions.

Ingredients:  Kua Myrrh, Frankincense, Sandalwood, Spikenard, Calamus, Elecampane, Angelica.  All bound with wine-soaked raisin and honey, then finished with Dragon’s Blood and stardust (red mica)
