SERENITY

Inspiration:

I pick my lavender and sweet clover flowers early on cool summer mornings.  Bees are buzzing all around.  The spicy, floral scent of lavender, and the vanilla, herbaceous fragrance of sweet clover, help calm my mind and my movements, allowing me to work along side the bees in total tranquility.  I cut the flower stems, taking care not to disturb the bees and always leaving them plenty of flowers for their own needs.  The fugue state continues as I return to my cabin to process the flowers for drying, salting and infusing.  After which, I spend the afternoon in the shade, under the cool, fragrant trees, as the heat of the high summer day makes work impossible.  Calm, very calm……
