Inspiration
Here in the north, the cold persists for what seems like forever. We wait impatiently for the crusty snow to finally abandon its frozen ground. The breath of spring winds is still icy as they ride over the granular snow-covered hills. We’re more than ready when the spirits of spring finally arrive to touch our skin with their warm fingers. For the green grasses to emerge and reclaim the landscape, mingling their green fragrance with the honeyed, balsamic scent of swollen poplar buds and the fruity scent of sweet clumps of larch needles. It’s a time to reconnect with the forest and celebrate the rebirth of the earth, to plant seeds and carefully gather the medicinal plants of spring. To give thanks and feel new beginnings.
